30 Aug Greenville Mission Trip
24Seven on Mission was a local four-day and three-night mission trip that had 135 middle schoolers and over 50 adult leaders involved from seven Grace Church campuses. The students slept at the Harrison Bridge, Powdersville, or Pelham campuses during the week and served the city in small groups. We sent students in 15-passenger vans to over 30 unique work sites to serve the Greenville community in some tangible ways under the theme of ‘Give to Live,’ centered around Matthew 10:39, “If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.”
While each group served separately during the day, each night they came together for worship and teaching in the hopes of challenging our students to continue serving as they begin the new school year. Some of the work was really difficult but it opened our students’ eyes to the work that is needed right here in our own backyard.
“The 24Seven Greenville Mission Trip was such an amazing experience that helped me realize how much Christ works through us. I also discovered how much of what we do impacts our local community. Anything we do for the Lord is seen by others or even recognized. And that really helped me knowing all that while serving on the mission trip.” —Cora Runion, 8th grade
