12 May Care Ministry Recap
Over the past year in our Care & Recovery ministries, we have had 162 participants in our care groups: 50 in DivorceCare, over 50 in GriefShare, over 30 in Single & Parenting, 17 in DivorceCare for Teens, and 13 in DivorceCare for Kids.
We also choose to impact the community by offering care groups to everyone, inside and outside the church. This spring, we had 58 group members who did not attend Grace Church. Care Groups have been a powerful way to share the hope of Christ with our community, and we have seen group members move from being outside of the local church to moving towards a life lived out in biblical community.
This summer, we will launch a brand new care group, SHIFT, geared towards kids and teens struggling with grief. When the “shifts” of life occur, we hope to equip and help kids explore their grief with God’s promises regarding comfort, healing, hope, and eternity. We will also offer an abbreviated 7-week GriefShare group. Both of these groups will meet at the Pelham Campus on Tuesday nights. Our Spartanburg campus is offering its first care group, DivorceCare for Kids, this summer as well.
In the fall, we plan to offer all six of our care groups, Single & Parenting, GriefShare, SHIFT, DivorceCare, DivorceCare for Kids, and DivorceCare for Teens. We will also offer re:generation, a 12-step discipleship process through recovery from the effects of sin in our lives. re:gen addresses issues like substance abuse, depression, abuse, fear, control, bitterness and many other personal struggles.
We will be offering several Care Groups this summer at our Pelham and Spartanburg campuses. Our Care Groups offer support, encouragement, and hope in the midst of a struggle. The Pelham campus will host GriefShare and SHIFT, a new program for children and teens dealing with the loss of a loved one. The Spartanburg campus will host DivorceCare for Kids. All of the groups will start the week of June 12. Click the link below to learn more and to register.
