Paul writes to the church of Philippi out of gratitude and confidence in their faith to continue sharing in the good news of the gospel. As partners in ministry, Paul challenges the Church to imitate Jesus’ self-giving love by continuing to serve in unity. Even in our suffering, the security of eternal citizenship in Heaven and our community in the body of believers gives us joy that reaches far beyond our circumstances.
