New Grace Worship Song | The Name of Jesus Christ

A few weeks ago we introduced a new Grace Church original song called “The Name of Jesus Christ.” This song is based on the text of Philippians 2:6-11. The text rejoices in the fact that Jesus emptied himself of His divine privileges to humbly take on our sin through the cross.

“The Name of Jesus Christ”

The Word made flesh, coming with the purpose
To ransom us,
PreChorus:
We were broken in our sin
Needing your redemption…
Chorus:
Now Every knee will bow down
And every tongue will confess
The name above all names
The Name of Jesus Christ
Emptied out, Pierced for our transgressions
You died for us
Laying down everything to purchase
Bridge:
No other name,
No other name,
The one who suffered as a servant when He came,
No other name,
No other name,
The Lord is Jesus Christ who died and rose again,
No other name,
No other name,
The one who suffered as a servant when He came,
No other name,
No other name,
You are Jesus Christ who died and rose again!
Alt-Chorus:
You bore the pain of the cross
for your people
Now Every knee will bow down
And every tongue will confess
(ring out)
The name above all!
