Nicaragua Trip Update

Each year, Grace Church sends four adult teams to Nicaragua who focus on pastoral training, church leadership training, and medical care. These teams serve with our partners, Christ for the City, and local church members with the goal of training pastors by equipping the local church in Nicaragua to address the needs of its people.

The past two years we have had the opportunity to take student teams to Nicaragua as well. On July 14, we sent a group of 16 students and 6 leaders from Grace Church to Managua, Nicaragua with the specific goal of working with children and students in the local community. Through our partners at CFCI, we worked with a local church and school to put on a Vacation Bible School as well as help with various construction projects.

Prior to leaving for the trip, the student team met several times together and even more on their own to prepare for different responsibilities in leading Vacation Bible School for over 70 children each day. The team was then divided into smaller groups that each had different responsibilities and parts to play during the week. Each day the students worked with over 100 children and students.

It was a great opportunity for our students to learn how to share their faith with others and how to communicate the gospel to children and also their peers. The students were vulnerable and open with each other as they experienced God in unique ways.
