Our Amazing, Inviting God!

Our God is an inviting God!  In Revelation 3:8, Jesus says, “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close.”  He knows everything we do, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

He knows when our pride keeps us from asking for help.  He knows when our jealous hearts cause us to want what others have.  He knows when we judge others to make ourselves feel more important.   There is no thought or action hidden from Him.

But, in spite of all He knows about us, the sin in our hearts, the door is always open!  Jesus’ invitation to relationship with Him is always available.  No one can close that door of invitation!

Can you imagine being that inviting?  No matter what another does or says to you, that your “door” would always be open?  Seems impossible to us, doesn’t it?  We get our feelings hurt; we think, “that’s the last time I’ll ever trust her.”  Left to ourselves, it is not possible.  But all things are possible with God.

Inviting is one characteristic of God that we as women are called to reflect.  Thank goodness that it’s not about trying harder, but about what He can do in and through us.  “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns,”  (Philippians 1:6).

Thank God for his invitation to relationship!  Where do you need to let go of past hurts and be fully inviting? Allow Him to continue His work in you today.
