Forever Ezer

Our pastors have been teaching a four-week series on Forever and what it means to live in light of it.

Thinking in terms of the end of this temporal life here on earth, or any end for that matter, it brings up the fact there had to be a beginning.  It was in the beginning, when God created male and female, in his image that the idea of an ezer first came to be.  God placed man in a perfect garden He himself had planted, but no suitable helper was found for Adam.  God fashioned woman out of man and created her to be his essential counterpart;  one who is uniquely designed to reflect the capacities of God to invite, nurture and partner.

Eve, the very first ezer, lived in a world where everything was perfect, for a period of time.  She did not have to worry about being self-protecting or self-promoting.  Then sin entered the picture and everything was corrupted.

Forever tells us what it will be like when everything is redeemed.  In Revelation 21:5 God said, “I am making everything new!”  He is planning to return all things to the perfect condition in which it started.  What hope that should give us for living out our core calling as an Ezer here and now!!  What does that look like though?  What does focusing on Forever and heaven have to do with our freedoms to invite nurture and partner?  How does living with a view of Forever bring peace and joy to our relationships?

Join us the next two weeks as we hope to offer some thought provoking ideas to help you be a Forever Ezer.
