Ezer and Our Sexuality

God designed women and put us on this earth to be ezers.  We share the same calling, but our individuality and season bring a uniqueness to bear on the way that calling plays out in each of our lives.

As ezers, we are uniquely suited to find and meet needs in others in the context of relationship As we deepen our understanding of living as ezers, we want to view what it means in a more narrow context, specifically with respect to our God-given sexuality.

Whether you are married, engaged, or single, God has purpose in how we handle our sexuality.  Many of us have participated in sexual sin.  Some of us have been wounded and abused by others.  Others of us believe that only men struggle with sexual sin in the form of lust and pornography.

Over the next few weeks, leading up to “A Conversation About Sexuality” conference, we will hear from women in our church body about the sexual issues that concern them.  Some issues are obvious sins; others are more subtle.   But the truth is, we all struggle with our sexuality in some way.  Our desire for autonomy, self-protection, and self-promotion has corrupted our sexuality as God intended it.  We’ll see women exploring and working through these issues with God’s help, healing, and grace.  We can find hope and redemption to experience our sexuality as God designed it.
